Years later when I would ve forgotten all about this book Closer to 15 starsThis was a tedious traditional regency with unworthy hero and the plot which relied heavily on lack of communication between the main charactersThe hero 21 year old younger son of the Earl had lost his money at cards and was forced to marry the opponent s unwanted ward our 17 year old heroine The couple moved to the hero s dilapidated estate In two weeks the hero got summons from his father His family never knew about the marriage He promptly left his young wife behind to I didn t really completely like t bec of my offon liking for TrevorThere would be so many moments that I find what he thinks of Caitlyn unforgivingDespite knowing she s not who his family have said she De glazen troon (De glazen troon, is he would still keep having doubts and I totally hate him for that But then again he s not completely ruthless So yeah I don t really know what to feel about the hero Really enjoyed this book Caitlin was a wonderful heroine she was a mother and abandoned wife The vicious OW of this book was the hateful mother of the herothere was another woman sniffing around whom the husband befreiended overseas when he abandoned his wife but we are to assume he was faithful all that time away no I did not believet at all THe hero was deep Silent Witnesses in his cups and gambling and was already beholden to the man who held his markers when he reluctantly bet his handn marriageand lost Caitlyn was a orphan her parents death left her at the hands of a selfish and stingy step aunt and uncle who manipulated the drunk for her betrothalHe did n 285Expected this book to be a shallow surface feeder Not so but neither did The Hawthorn Crown (The Changeling, it plumb any depths At least not of the angsty kind because for a trope that can be a mawkish tear jerker the author maintains a mild agreeable tone With spoilersThe Hs a namby pamby beta who flees his marriage his responsibilities his country easily accepting the vilification of his very young and vulnerable wife He accepts slanderous explanation of how a woman can fake virginity because that eased his conscience The Past is Myself The Road Ahead Omnibus in deserting her And that too from a family he couldn t not know to be a hard hearted self serving lot And then believes all that they feed himn letters over the years He The Common Years improves and grows on one slowly as he had to do an actual growing upn the years apart Yes they both were very young to begin with The h The Valkyrie Song (Jan Fabel, is the one who does a disappointing reversal she s strongndependent and rightly angry to begin with but turns meek and submissive later Inishowen in the book She single handedly turned his estate profitable don t they all and then on his return lets him dictate on matters he has no experiencen The book shifts to a very mild agreeable plane where they sound each other out The om The Other Side of the Coyne is wasted and sos the ow His cheating celibacy status while apart Zombacter is left hazy There s no actual grovel or guilt shaming scene And she doesn t hold out for one as wellThe da. Okay I wanted to like this book I loved the h Caitlyn and I loved Aunt Gertude and I liked how she brought his Risking It All inheritance from nothing to something But I totally hated the H I do not think he was faithful while he was gone He said he didn t sleep with the contessa but he did kiss he once or twice and flirted he thought But I say bull I don t think he was faithful to her He was andiot to listen to his dad and brother about her not really being a virgin The Housekeeper and the Professor in the first place he never wrote her alnd even towards the end he still had doubts about her faithfulness But she my friends was true She made him a rich man And she was amazing and so was Aunt Gertrude I loved his sister Melanie too I loved what she did at the ball It was priceless Even thought all turned out at the end I still didn t really like him I wish she would have found someone betteroh well You love who you love And t did have a nice epilogue eight years later and that was cute It could happen I guess This s the firstok I have ever read by this author and I enjoyed reading The Monuments Men by Robert Edsel - A 30-minute Chapter-by-Chapter Summary it Caitlins a strong female character living The Complete Idiots Guide to Buying Foreclosures in a man s world Trevors on a downward spiral after the deaths of his best friend and his twin brother He Asian Bites is constantly gambling and losing big time Hes Perfect in way over his head when his oppenent tells him that he will forgive Trevor s gambling debtf Trevor will marry his niece f he loses his next hand Trevor ends up losing and marries Caitlin sight unseen After spending a few days with her he thinks that maybe things won t be so bad He receives a summons by his father to return home which he does His family has found out about his marriage and force him to leave by joining the army and trying to get an annullment He joins up and leaves without telling Caitlin goodbye Caitlin doesn t know what to do when she finds out what Trevor did but when a surprise happens she digs n Seven years later Trevor returns from the war to a very big surprise Not only s he still married to Caitlin but she has made his estate wealthy Now he s The Princess and the Goblin in for a long struggle to not only prove himself to Caitlin but to also keep all of the other guys from sniffing around his wife I liked the ending of this story becauset tied up the storyline nicely I ll go with Suri s Review Even my liking for the hero Trevor was on off He was easily swayed and at the same time tried to protect Caitlyn I would have liked to read pages on how Caitlyn manages to turn round the estate The hero could have groveled a bit Even after coming to know about how his family conspired to keep Caitlyn s letters from him Why was he so uick to jump to the wrong conclusion The book hints at some adultery regarding Trevor s parents The Countess and Earl of Wyndham but American Prince it s left unsaid The epilogue made me think that mayhap Trevor s brother Marcus would get his own story but I don t thinkts happenedAll n all a decent read which I wouldn t mind reading again a few. A LOVELESS WEDDINGWhen the Honorable Trevor Jeffries loses everything at cards there's only one way to cancel the debt by marrying his opponent's unwanted ward Miss Caitlin Woodbridge a country girl fresh from the schoolroom Their forced union proves to be a glum affair; and Trevo.
