Is book started off a bit slow for me but with the amazing characters I couldn t help but like this book I love Sara and Cooper They ust work They have their secrets and hidden agendas but their relationship seems to work for them They don t want to keep secrets from each other but they have good reasons to They had some very cute and sweet moments I had that dopey smile on my face when they were together They really are adorable Sara does have trouble opening up to Cooper but I mean if you knew your husband No Risk Refused just got out ofail and was possibly coming after you I would probably push everyone away from me I really felt sympathy for Sara She is constantly living in fear and she has people in her life that she wants to protect than anything She pushes herself to live but also has to keep looking over her shoulder Cooper s family adopts Sara as a sister of sorts and everyone thinks she is Out of the Shadows just fantastic except for Cooper He is trying to put Sara s husband Tony Dennis back inail but needs to get close to her to find something to use against Tony I like that he was trying to be good to her and wasn t Im Not Millie! just using her the entire time His family would probably kill him if he hurt her He has to learn to trust Sara as much as Sara has to learn to trust him I love Cooper s family His father and his siblings are really close with Sara She now has a family to love her They are a great family They give Sara another reason to stay strong Sara and Cooper especially have such great depth to their characters We learn about their pasts and how their experiences have affected them I admire how they work to overcome their struggles and keep living My problem with the story is that the plot was moving a bit too slow for me There were some great scenes that made me laugh cry smile and keep me on my toes but there were also a few parts of the book that moved so slowly I was starting to lose interest I expected a bit suspense because at any given moment Tony couldust show up and that is pretty darn scary I know that Sara has a life and people to care for but I expected intensity More suspense The plot wasn t bad at all but it wasn t consistently the most thrilling or engaging either With all of that said I liked this book a lot mostly because of the characters but took off a star or so because the plot did drag on and off throughout the book I still want to go back and read the other books in this series especially the one about Harry and Somer Can t wait I didn t realize this was part of a series when I started it but I am interested to see what the characters have been up to in the other books This book can be read as a standalone I received this ARC via Netgalley Copy received via Netgalley for an honest reviewIt has been a while since I have read an Anna Clifton book so I Salvation: A Novel (Salvation Sequence) jumped in to Copping It SweetIt did take me a little while to get into the swing of this book but this was probably to do with my mood at the time rather than the book I thinkI have read the other books in this series they can all be read as stand alones so it was good to get a little glimpse into their lives from where their story endedI love that the characters aren t perfect Cooper and Sara have their flaws have stuff from their pasts that are still affecting them nowSara is strong willed standing on her won two feet and doesn t want anyone s helpCooper is the policeman who is to sweet talk information about her estranged husband out of herThere is an undeniable attraction between our lovelies which flits between sweet and down right sexy and youust hoped that they would get their act togetherThere is a undercurrent of suspense and intrigue in Copping It Sweet that A River of Royal Blood (A River of Royal Blood, just had you wondering when things were going to dropWhile I did not connect with Sara as well as I have others in this series again this was probablyust my mood I still did enjoy herI LOVED the banter between Cooper s family characters from the earlier books the bite the snark the fun and gamesAnd I love that these books are set in my home town of Sydney so nice to be able to picture all these places being written aboutI am not impatiently awaiting for what Ms Clifton brings us next Sara Sullivan doesn t have an easy life Falling in love with the wrong guy at an early ag. Tective Sergeant Cooper Halligan her best friend’s brother and the single biggest threat to the secret she’s guarded for yearsCooper Halligan is happy to be home But he’s not happy to discover that Sara Sullivan is a permanent fixture within his famil.
I received a free copy of this book from the publisher via NetGalley in return for an honest reviewShort and sweet review I really liked this book Four starsI didn t realise when I reuested it from NetGalley that it was the fifth book in a series but I felt it was easy to read as a stand aloneCooper Halligan has Transnasal Endoscopic Skull Base and Brain Surgery just returned to Sydney after a stint working in Singapore He s a policeman a detective who was infuriated when the drugs suad busted a known crime boss for a lesser offense rather than the murder of a teenage boy a murder Cooper was investigating When Cooper gets home he finds out from his numerous brothers and sisters that his widowed father is getting mighty chummy with said crime boss estranged wife Sara Sullivan In fact his entire family now seems to be best buddies with Sara Only Cooper knows about her husband and he has done his best to keep the beautiful woman away from his family without success Oh and did I mention that he is also hopelessly in love with herSara s husband has been released from prison and Cooper and his boss are desperate to get some leverage to put him away for life so his boss tells Cooper to get close to Sara maybe she will let something slip Sara has secrets of her own Her husband and his goons are stalking her her landlord is trying to evict his tenants and sell the property so nothing gets properly repaired and she is trying to get her high school certificate but she is failing mathsI have a real enjoyment of novels set in Australia and New Zealand Maybe it s because they feel down to earth and about real people than many of the books set in the USA that I read obviously that is also my fault for choosing books where everyone is rich and good looking but not as down to earth and close to home as books set in the UK where I m from which can feel a little too familiarI really liked this book Cooper could have come across as an ass because of his suspicions about Sara but it was softened by the fact that he had been in love with her from afar for so longI will most definitely be looking out for the previous books in this series Anna Clifton has now gone onto my list of go to authors This oneust didn t work for me and I m not even sure why The overall story is good and the writing is well done but I never connected with the characters and I think there were too many Aussie isms for me to really understand everything The pace of the story was a bit slow for me also As I said it ust didn t work for me but not a bad book overall 35Cooper is recently back in Sydney Australia after spending time in Singapore He s a detective with a large family including unofficially adopted family friend Sara Sara and Cooper have never gotten along although now that he s back home he s beginning to see her in new way Sara s husband has a history of violence and has been stalking her since their separation 12 years prior Because of his history the police have been trying to get enough evidence on him to put him in ail Cooper s boss has him cozying up to Sara in order to get information from her but the time he spends with her the his feelings grow and the less interest he has in his Mes recettes veggie au robot-cuiseur - 150 ides faciles et rapides ! job Unfortunately as the two get closer so does Sara s husband and I found this to be a cute book which is not how I expected to view this suspense prior to reading it The relationship between Cooper and Sara takes precedence over the suspense in this story We know that Sara s husband is watching her and she lives in constant fear of him but I never felt as though she was in imminent danger Instead we get to see the development of a sweet relationship between the two main characters The heat remains as a low simmer and while we know the characters become intimate there are no sex scenes writtenWhat kept me from enjoying this book than I did I never felt fully immersed Maybe because I m new to this author and her writing style or maybe I must having an off week I did feel as though a lot of details mundane as they may have been were glossed over and a few things were left hanging at the end Regardless it is a nice story and will appeal to many fans of this genreMy thanks to NetGalley and Escape Publishing for the pleasure of reading and reviewing Copping It Sweet by Anna Clifton 375 starsTh. To find out her secrets he’s willing to risk everything including his heart Sara Sullivan has a landlord who wants to evict her a 1960s Beetle that rarely starts and a looming exam she’s all set to fail But none of that compares to the return home of De.

E is now keeping her from really living Sara is still legally married to Tony and he Jesus and the Jewish Roots of Mary just got released from prison Ever since Sara left him she has done nothing but hide She isn t making sure he can t find her instead Sara tries to keep him away from the people she loves Tony will not hurt her directly but he will hurt her by taking on everyone around her Sara lives in a small apartment now and has her own barber shop which is doing pretty well During her spare hours Sara is studying for an upcoming exam because she wants to get the degree she should have had all those years ago There i I haven t read all this series but it doesn t matter the author does enhance some details so that this can be read as a stand aloneThe author asked me if I would like to read this she knows that sometimes i like toump into a good loveromance sometimes which breaks up my usual genre It has to be a good one though and I know that Anna Clifton delivers those kind of reads that aren t mushy too overboard and has a realistic feel to themThis is a story about Sara and Cooper it does have some intense moments mushy moments but romantic suspense too Maybe because I read other books and not romantic books often this made this book stand out for me I always think its nice to swap around certain genres so that you can read afresh I think this was a great book for me to relax with and Sherman Tank Manual just sit and enjoy and go with the flowThank you to Net Galley but to the author too for my very good read Copping It Sweet Anna CliftonReview from Jeannie Zelos book reviewsGenre Romance I loved Anna s New Year s Promise and her Making Ends Meet so was hoping I d love this one too I enjoyed it but it didn t have the same pull for me as the other two reads and I m not really sure why that is I think maybe its that the main leads Sara and Cooperust didn t have the same appeal to me I didn t feel I really knew or understood them and couldn t really get too worked up about their romance of the issues they were facing I guess the plot that centred around Sara s husband felt a bit unreal to me too The explanations were all there the ends all tied up and yet for me it Let Me Feed You just felt a bit unfulfilling Sometimes books are like that you should like them all indications point that way and yet for some reason thatust don t uite meet the markIts a good read but one of those I d not reread Looking at what else Anna has written though I m drawn to one of the early reads Adam s Boys and have Five Days at Memorial just bought that Yep I get loads of review books read lots through KU and still find ones I want to buy Stars Three a good read but not a keeper for me ARC supplied by Netgalley and publisher Received an ARC from NetGalley for an honest reviewDNF at 50% I had a hard time getting into the story even thought it s supposed to be a stand alone I received a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review I almost didst read through this book the start of it made me wonder what genre this was and I had to re read the synopsis again However as the book progressed that s when the actual story began I really loves Sara and her fierceness in protecting those near and dear to her I also wanted to strangle Cooper on several occasions as he was the stereotypical alpha male type always thinking her knows best and is right The dynamic between the two is hilarious as Sara is too strong willed to be shaken down by Cooper and his alpha male tendencies and while they start off as frienemies their relationship soon blossoms into something As Sara is still married to a criminal Cooper has been longing for years to put away behind bars for murder this story is thanust a heartfelt love story There is mystery murder and lots of emotion from each character I did enjoy this book however the start for me was slow going and a little confusing hence my hesitation between giving this book 3 or 4 stars Realistically I would give it somewhere between 3 and 4 stars because of this However if you can look past the slow beginning it is a good read and the character buildup is well written with characters that you grown to love I didn t realize at first that it was part of a series however there wasnt a sense that I lost information or background at not having read any other book by this autho. Y especially when he’s the only one who knows about the sinister marriage lying hidden in her pastSara’s crime boss husband is the prime suspect in the murder of an innocent street kid and now Cooper’s prepared to do anything to find out what Sara kno.
First of all thanks for visitingIf you’d like to get in touch please drop me a line I’d love to hear from youIn order to write this bio I began to think back on how I came to be writing romance novels I soon worked out that I've held down in excess of fifty jobs in my life so far They've ranged from scooping ice creams to selling glow sticks to stumbling around in a container ship on absur
